Looking for Cute Running Shoes: Any Suggestions?

I am hoping to start a running routine for exercise because I don%26#039;t think I will be on my school%26#039;s cheerleading team next year, and I need a way to maintain my physical fitness. I have been looking for some quality running shoes that are somewhat pleasing to look at, and haven%26#039;t been all that successful. I have found a couple pairs that I like, but would like to know if there%26#039;s anything else that I should consider. I really love the appearance of the Nfinity: Genesis cheerleading sneakers, but don%26#039;t know that they are good for running. If you could give me any insight about the Nfinity Genesis cheerleading shoes on a running standpoint, that would be very helpful, and I%26#039;d appreciate it greatly. If you could locate any running shoes that have good arch support and if possible are made with a nice breathable material, and have a similar appearance to the Nfinity Genesis cheerleading sneakers, that would be appreciated as well. Thank you VERY much! :]

aasics tennis shoes are always cute (well, for tennis shoes anyway) and they are comfortable, and sensible. which is what you really need.
Reply:don%26#039;t worry about how cute the shoes are or else your gonna get hurt but you can try pumas if that%26#039;s all that matters to you
Reply:ok if your gonna run don%26#039;t be a loser, who cares about what the shoes look like, you want shoes that will fit your feet that you won%26#039;t get hurt in. I ran for 4 years, and i didn%26#039;t care what my shoes looked like, i just wanted to stay injury free, and if your gonna be running every day there is gonna be bad weather so it doesn%26#039;t matter.

Running shoes question?

i have jordans and run in them but my toes begin to hurt and all and was wondering if i should get running shoes, will they make me feel better running and after running?

Running shoes question?
Definately get a good pair of running shoes. They are designed for it. New Balance is an excellent brand for running. Very durable and comfortable shoes. Some shoes stores are better at helping you pick out shoes than others. Find one where you can ask tuestions about which shoes would be best for you, not just which ones are the most popular.
Reply:you should definately get better running shoes....i started running cross country and it makes all the difference. My coach told me to go somewhere like fleetfeet if you have one of those where you live...or somewhere like it.. they put you on a tredmill and record how you run and then show you the perfect running shoes for you!
Reply:get reebok running shoes.

What kind of running shoes for aerobics?

So, I work in a shoe store. I am so clueless about what to buy though, and it%26#039;s kinda hard to get help when you work there.

I am looking at two different Saucony shoes right now. The Pro Grid Triumph 4 ,and Grid Excursion TR. I do like the P/G triumph a lot more, but there is a huge price difference, almost double for the P/G.

Are you supposed to wear a specific shoe for aerobics, or do general running shoes work?

I need to get something, my ankles and feet are killing me from doing aerobics in adidas shell shoes (closest thing I have to a running shoe).

What kind of running shoes for aerobics?
Aerobics can have stepping, similar to running. It can also have side to side stepping or light side-to-side jumps, pretty vigorous for most folks.

For the side to side activity, running shoes can be ok, but they are made with little lateral (side) strength. I went through the side of a pair of running shoes years ago with a lot of side pressure playing basketball. Not the upper, I separated the sole from the upper, my foot completely on the ground and the shoe over my arch, looking at the bottom of the sole and the top of the shoe.

Look for a lightweight cross trainer, a tennis shoe or basketball shoe. Tennis and basketball shoes are made with more side reinforcement. Cross trainer with more than running shoes, but less than the other two.
Reply:Well, I just need a pair of tennis shoe that wouldn%26#039;t numb my toes.

Help me too.

What are Good Running Shoes for 2mile runs and sprints at practice?

I%26#039;m 14 and just started making running an important part of my weekly schedule. My current running shoes are well in the trash. I%26#039;m lookin for running shoes below $110 that will take me through a good many of practices. I need some LIGHT shoes to run a few miles in and alot of sprints. Im looking at ASICS Gel Frantic and Asics Gel-DS Racer VII. Are They any good. Plz tell me the brand name and all that stuff.

What are Good Running Shoes for 2mile runs and sprints at practice?
Asics Gel are my favorite. They have been my last three pairs and will last about 300-500 miles.
Reply:for middle distance and long runs go for new balance or saucony. the cushioning works. i like non-gumsole asics for sprints. specific models depend on your foot. my favorites probably won%26#039;t work for you; i%26#039;m flat-footed
Reply:buy air walks they are a good pries and very conferable and last like to years best shoe i have ever had
Reply:Muzino%26#039;s are great running shoes. They are extremely comfortable and lightweight. This is the link to their website;

Best running shoes?

I%26#039;m starting to run with friends every week at Metro Parks. And I don%26#039;t have any real running shoes. The middle area of my foot also starts to cramp after running or walking after a certain amount of time. What kind of running shoes do you use, or recommend? What do you think is the best brand?

Best running shoes?
Nike and Adias are good running shoes
Reply:Hard to say what the best running shoes are. You should go to a shoe center and have them test your foot. They can find what %26#039;kind of foot%26#039; you have. Running shoes can be specific to your foot, and if you run in the wrong ones you can get injured. Once you have your type (Neutral, Comfort, or Stability) you can pick a shoe you like based on style or price. Just because a shoe cost a lot more doesn%26#039;t make it a better shoe if it doesn%26#039;t fit your foot. Personally I like brooks and adidas brand shoes.
Reply:any kind of durable running shoes are good. i recommend nike, addidas, asics are good also.

brands aren%26#039;t as imporant because that%26#039;s just the name, it%26#039;s really behind how stable the shoe is and how long it will last.

the middle area of your foot is your arch. make sure you get some high arch shoes and talk to the sales ppl about it and they will find a shoe that will support your arch.

to make it so that your arch isn%26#039;t so sore try icing is or massaging it or rolling a can or something to stretch out the muscles.
Reply:Well I would try to find a running shoe store in your area. They will fit you with a good shoe and make sure that it fits you and everything.

There really is not a better brand of shoe. It just depends on what you like and what feels comfortable. I myself like Brooks. A few of my friends hate Brooks. It%26#039;s opinion. But definably go to a running store. It%26#039;s your best bet.

Good luck
Reply:finding a good shoe all depends on personal comfort and what shoe best fits your foot, go to a running/shoe store and ask what they suggest, you just want to make sure it right for your feet, i%26#039;ve ended up with shoes that werent right for me which caused very painful shin splints and stress fracture, now i have been running on brooks and i havent had any shin problems
Reply:Now I hate to be horribly cocky here but, if you want a QUALITY shoe for whatever way you run you need Newtons. They are not very heard of but my cousin runs distance for Oregon and he suggests Newtons above all else. GREAT SHOE!
Reply:Personally, I prefer asics but other brands are also good.

Women's Running shoes!?

I need to purchase new running shoes. I currently run 5-7 miles per day mainly on the treadmill. I have narrow feet and VERY high arches. My current pair are Asics to which I added poly sorb insoles, I love them now, but they were really hard to break in, they pushed down on my toes for a long time (no they are not too small, I always get my feet measured and the size has been the same for a long time). So ladies or men who REALLY know about women%26#039;s running shoes, can anyone recommend a shoe for my foot type and need that will not take forever to break in? I would love to go to a specialty running store, but there is not one in my area.

BTW-I don%26#039;t care about what is cute or trendy.

Women%26#039;s Running shoes!?
2 words: New Balance. They%26#039;re great running and walking shoes.. They are very light weight and merciless on the balls of your feet... They are really comfortable... I ran track and I would slip them on after I ran and they are a good quality shoe.. pricy but good.
Reply:You%26#039;re very welcome. I assumed you got you a pair. I pay attention to the stuff I buy especially if I%26#039;m gonna spend my own money! But I know they%26#039;re great shoes and it has great arch support so enjoy your shoes! Always here 2 help! Report It

Reply:kanga roos they are really comfy and dont take long to break in
Reply:Nike tends to run narrow, but doesn%26#039;t have a lot of arch supports...but most shoe stores will sell full length arch supports. That being said...I have a pair of Nike airmax 360%26#039;s and they are the most comfortable shoes I%26#039;ve ever owned!

Running Shoes vs. Trainers?

I run 1mile on the track 2-3 times a week. It%26#039;s a timed mile so consistancy and speed is very important. I was to get running shoes (nike free 5.0) but the shoes i got actually ended up to be the nike free 5.0 trainers. whats the difference? and is it ok if i just keep the trainers and run with those?

Running Shoes vs. Trainers?
yes
Reply:A running shoe is ultra lightweight and used in competition only. They speed you up. Those shoes don%26#039;t have much bottom on it. A cross trainer is heavier, but still light. Here is a page that shows Track and Field shoes. A lot of them have spikes in the bottom that you can unscrew and fill with blanks for running.

Are running shoes essential?

I have recently started running on the treadmill, using my (cheap) squash shoes.

I am wondering whether I should invest in a good quality pair of running shoes. I had some pain in my knees after a 35 minute run the other day, I%26#039;m not sure if this is due to the shoes.

Thanks!

Are running shoes essential?
I%26#039;ve been in track and cross country running for three years. As a child I%26#039;d just run for fun but then I realized how shoes help you! Get one with great ventilation and one that is very light! It%26#039;ll give you a natural feel. And it%26#039;s important that it%26#039;s snug but not tight. Just the perfect fit!
Reply:Running shoes are obviously not essential because people have been running for centuries, but shoes made specifically for running have only been available for a few decades.

Having said that, probably even running barefoot would be preferred over squash shoes.

Break out your wallet and invest in some well-cushioned running shoes. I bet your knee pain was due to lack of cushioning in your shoes.
Reply:In my opinion, the two most important running accessories are comfortable shoes and a good sports bra. I%26#039;m guessing by your name, the latter is probably not necessary!

My sister-in-law runs several miles a day outside but whenever she runs on a treadmill, she has knee pain - wearing the same shoes. Not sure why but maybe this is why you had knee pain.

Either way, I would say if you are going to continue running, a good pair of shoes will definitely benefit you all over.

Happy running!
Reply:probably
Reply:If you are going to get serious, get some serious shoes. Go to a specialty running store and get fitted.

Best Running Shoes For me?

I%26#039;m 16, 135lbs, 5,11%26#039;, and have been running through a hilly terrain for 2 months 3 days per week.

I have been using Nike Air and Rebock Basketball shoes. I know they aren%26#039;t right. I do not have access to a track or anything. I run very steep gradients, jump over streams, and run on gravel paths and grass. What type of running shoe should I be looking for and what%26#039;s a good website to find out some more information?

Best Running Shoes For me?
I have been running for 8 years now. Though I am biased towards Nike as a brand, I would recommend you to go to a running-specific store, like Fleet Feet in Carrboro, NC. They can help you find the right shoe because people buy shoes that aren%26#039;t necessarily right for their feet, but more comfortable or fashionable. But after you get the correct shoes or even if you haven%26#039;t, I would go to any major athletics store and ask the sales associates because they are getting paid to know the products they are selling. But make sure you state the use/reason for buying the shoes. Good luck!!!

Reply:I would look for a distance or XC shoe with a lot of support in the heel and arch. Also Under Armour just came out with trail running shoes....go to their website to check it out.
Reply:stop running in basketball shoes... they%26#039;re for basketball.

visit your local running store and talk to one of the employees.

i would personally recommend pearl izume or new balance.
Reply:It sounds like you%26#039;d benefit from a trail-running shoe. They are designed with a studded outsole for traction on trails.

Is underarmour shoes good for running a marathon?

I bought new underarmour shoes today from finishline, they are the new prototype running shoes. I am running the chicago marathon this year (2008) and i want to know if those shoes are good to run in. The associate at finish line said they would work (eventhough the shoe is designed for speed). Any ideas? I figured the shoe has good cushioning and other things, so it might work but i also want to make sure i am not killing my knees, (I am 22 years old).

Budget Running Shoes?

Hey everyone, I recently started a walking/jogging routine and plan on doing running in the near future once my legs get used to exercising (I%26#039;ve led a relatively sedentary life until now). I was wondering if anyone could suggest a pair of moderately inexpensive running shoes.

My biggest problem seems to be aching feet, as my current shoes are 2 year old Walmart shoes (I paid 10 bucks for them lol). A shoe with an above-average amount of cushion would be preferable.

In case this information is helpful, I%26#039;m kind of a big guy, 6%26#039;0%26quot; and 220 lbs.

Thanks a lot everyone!

Oh yeah, my price range is probably about 50-85 dollars.

Budget Running Shoes?
There is no such thing as a %26quot;budget%26quot; running shoe, fact is that if you want a decent pair of running shoes your going to pay between 80-100 dollars and buy new pairs every 300-500 miles unless you want to have injuries, which can cost you a lot more then 80-100 dollars, the best thing you can do is get is %26quot;value%26quot; being the best shoe you can get for you feet at the lowest price. Some people are the %26quot;trendy%26quot;types of runners that buy the most expensive shoes possible and completely ignore if the shoes actually are right for there feet, then there are the experienced runners that go to a running specialty store and talk to a trained salesman that most of the time is a fellow runner, and they ask them questions like if they are over-pronaters, pronaters, or under-pronaters, if they have high, low or normal arches, what distances the run on a weekly basis, and some times what weight range they are in. They help determine what shoe is right for you, and then you can find the best value out of the many shoes that they show you.
Reply:New Balance makes good cushioned shoes for the heavy runner, but may cost a little bit more. You can go to the Runners World website and look at the shoe reviews and find a good brand at your price range. I%26#039;ve always believed in good quality shoes and generally pay around 80+ dollars for my running/training shoes but did find a Wal Mart shoe that was good for running on dirt/grass that I didn%26#039;t mind getting dirty. (10 dollars a pair, bought four pairs, just for soft surfaces) If your running on the road, sidewalks, or any other hard surface, you would do good to get a well cushioned shoe like you said.
Reply:I usually go to a local running store. Talk to them they will be able to get you a good pair of shoes for your body and feet. Ask them to look only in the sale piles. They usually have certain types of shoes that they are trying to get rid of because there is a newer model out. They will spend about 25 minutes finding shoes so you dont get injured, they will feel great, and usually chaper than sport stores. Also ask them if they could throw in a running shirt with their logo on it or something for free. they are usually are more than willing to. DO NOT BE RUNNING IN $10 SHOES. IF YOU WANT TO KEEP RUNNING YOU MUST PROTECT YOUR BODY. good luck.
Reply:Sounds like you already received a lot of good advice from the other posters. You should go to a running store and get some advice. As a bigger person you may want to consider getting shoes from the motion control category. You need to protect your ankles from pronation. Motion control shoes are typically built to provide better support for bigger / older runners. You won%26#039;t see world class runners using them but they have the genetics to avoid injury. For the rest of us, better support at the expense of a little weight and flexibility is probably worth the trade.
Reply:OK, you paid ten bucks and now you are being punished...That%26#039;s God%26#039;s way of saying %26quot;Take care of yourself!%26quot; Best advice, go to a good running store if you have one in your area and get some expert advise. While you may feel that you need a lot of cushioning, there can be too much of a good thing and a nice soft, cushy shoe can end up breaking down and not affording the support you need. Something like that may be ideal for walking, but running requires more support. But here are some things that I have learned in my fifty some years of running. Experimentation is the only way to find what works for you. The most expensive shoes aren%26#039;t always the best. The least expensive shoes are always the worst. Beware of paying just for a name. Go a little larger than your street shoe size to allow for some motion. Good luck, I%26#039;ll see you the next 10K!
Reply:I completely agree with the answers so far, but I disagree about having to spend $80.00+ I bought a pair of new balances at Sports Authority for $40.00 they were the New Balance 473 and I%26#039;ve ran cross-country and track in them and they%26#039;ve been the best shoes I%26#039;ve ever had.

Running Shoes; Patellar Tendinitis?

I have a case of patellar tendinitius, and when I run my knee aches. It%26#039;s only my left knee, but it causes me to stop running. I was wonder what I should looking for when I got to purchase a proper pair of running shoes. I.e; raised arch, shock absorbers, etc. I also have a high arch; I don%26#039;t know if it makes a difference.

If there are any shoes you know of it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Running Shoes; Patellar Tendinitis?
Get a pair made for people who supinate, which is what people with high arches usually do. Just make sure they%26#039;ve got sufficient arch support to adequately support your high arches.
